The Brodhead Depot makes a nice place to have a rest stop.

The Brodhead Milwaukee Road depot is the
oldest depot in Green County and is in the National Register of Historic Places.

The First Brigade Civil War Band which accompanied Gen. William Tecumseh Sherman on Sherman's March to the Sea left for the Civil War from Brodhead. Brodhead was named for Edward Brodhead, who was the president of the Milwaukee Road at the time Brodhead was established.
